HTSAlert's tariff change log is a free, public record of United States import tariff rate changes, detected through daily monitoring of official USITC Harmonized Tariff Schedule data and Federal Register notices. Every entry records two dates: the legal effective date, when the new rate legally takes effect under the governing trade action, and the detected date, when HTSAlert's daily check first observed the change in published data. These dates can differ by weeks, because retroactive tariff changes are sometimes published after they are already legally in force. Each detected change is stored as an insert-only audit record that is never edited or deleted, preserving a timestamped compliance trail for every monitored HTS code.
